Perejaume, Marc a l’encesa, 1990, two framed photographs and burnt frame moulding
I thought the use of a giant piece of picture moulding in Catalan artist, Perejaume’s piece Marc a l’encesa was interesting when I saw it at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, however I really didn’t connect with the curator description on the plaque next to it. You can read it for yourself, here. I’m always disappointed when the description of the work has a negative effect on my enjoyment of it. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any more writing on it. I would love to hear what the artist has to say about the work.
